Counter-Strike: Source Server Relocated
We've relocated our Chicago based CS:S server to New York. This server move should lower pings for those on the East Coast as well as for those who live abroad in Europe. For those living in the Midwest, we'll see 55 ms ping rather than 5 ms ping.
I've also updated our game server tracker. You can view the updated tracker on our server page

New Playstation 3 Section
I'm proud to announce the new Playstation 3 section. The section is headed by Krato and was started with the goal of expanding Gamers Core into a part of the gaming world where clans are largely underrepresented.
Server Talks
The community has begun discussing possible plans for our MovieBattles 2 server. As indicted by a majority of the members, everyone has mostly lost interest in MB2. The current suggestions on the table are: Call of Duty 4 and a European Counter-Strike: Source server. At the moment, there seems to be a demand for a European CSS server and as such, I am preparing to move our MB2 server abroad. Stay tuned for the final outcome of these talks.

Recruitment Campaign
In case anyone is confused or missed it, we are actively recruiting! We have no join requirements other than you should be mature, respectful, and believe in teamwork and teamplay. For those who wish to join, simply register on our community forum and then join the Regulars member group. Afterwards, you may want to post an introduction about yourself in the members section, attend an upcoming event, and get to know some of the other members.
We are also now listed in FPS Banana so we can help spread the word of our gaming community to a larger gaming audience. Your can find our FPSB Community Page here.
New Members
Two new members have recently joined our community: Neo Hikato and Adam F. Welcome to Gamers Core!
Ric'Yin Receives Exemplary Service Ribbon
Game Office Ric'Yin has received the Exemplary Service Award for the past six months of satisfactory service as both an officer and a server admininistrator. Congratulations Ric'Yin!
Website Update
In an effort to consume a little bandwidth and to speed up page load times, I've recoded most of the website without the use of tables. However, I did not do so for the member and unit pages. It would have been harder to create a grided table using only DIVs and CSS. In addition page load time doesn't really improve, so I left them as tables.
I am now very tired, so I will depart for bed after spending nearly 4.5 hours converting most of this site from tables to tableless design. For those with older systems or slower connections, I hope you notice a faster page load. :)

New Website Complete
The new website is now finished. This website is optimized for Firefox Beta 2+ and Opera 9.0+. Since MSIE 6/7 does not conform to the web standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), this website may not function or render properly. Unfortunately, the titles of the news postings and the subtitles used on the Units page "breaks" within Firefox 2.x. This is due to a incomplete support of CSS 2.x standards as recommended by the W3C. I've also added validity markers (images on bottom right corner) of each page that conforms to a specific standard.
One additional thing I would like to point out: the navigation menu now functions properly in IE7. This has taken me many hours to figure out. Although the menu works and functions properly, the new titles and other page titles "break" with IE7. With the release of IE8, hopefully this issue will be resolved.

New Ranks
Forum ranks have been removed because of their uselessness. We now have six positions (more like five). They are: Officer, Admin, Unit Leader, Unit Member, Member, and Visitor. Our tags have also been shortened to reflect the new changes.
MB2 Leadership Changes
On another front, there have been some changes in the MovieBattles 2 section. As said before, Nadill was the Game Officer responsible for that section. Unfortunately, he became inactive and has stated in recent correspondance between him and myself, he seems to have lost interest in the Star Wars universe. As such, MB2 Admin Krato has been promoted to MB2 Game Officer and Dragco has been promoted to MB2 Server Admin.

New Server: MB2
Due to the generous contributing memberships of Suraieru, Ric'Yin, and Ididdie (along with some contributions from myself), we will be getting a new 12 slot Jedi Academy server that we will run the total conversion MovieBattles II (RC1) in Full Authentic Mode.
MB2 Leader
Nadill, as said before, will be taking command of this game section and will be the Game Command Officer (GCO) responsible for this section. He will be working closely with the community and other MBII admins to work up a set of regulations and general conduct expectations within the week.
